Sonim XP5Plus (with Knobs): Full Specifications

Built around reliability rather than smartphone extras, the Sonim XP5Plus (with Knobs) combines a classic candybar-style design with features aimed at dispatch, field work and radio-like communication. The defining difference on this version is the pair of top-mounted knobs for channel selection and volume, which make no-look operation easier when attention needs to stay on the job. A large push-to-talk key, emergency key and three dynamic front buttons reinforce that practical approach, while the 2.8-inch 240 x 320 display keeps menus and messages straightforward. Inside, it runs Sonim’s proprietary system based on Android 11 on a Qualcomm SM6115 platform with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage, plus microSD expansion up to 512 GB. An 8 MP camera with flash and up to 1080p video adds basic imaging, and the removable 3500 mAh battery is rated for long talk and standby times. Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, dual nano-SIM support, USB-C and hotspot capability round out the core hardware. Just as important, the heavy-duty build carries MIL-STD-810H, IP68 and IPX9K ratings, with dual front-facing speakers, noise and echo cancellation, and a body made to handle dust, water and rougher daily use.
