Sonim XP6: New & Refurbished Prices in Canada

Sonim

The Sonim XP6 is a rugged Android phone built for work and harsh environments rather than media or photography. It offers a physical keypad, long battery life, LTE connectivity, and a compact 2.64-inch display, but its screen, camera, and software are dated by modern standards.

Sonim XP6: Full Specifications

Built around durability first, the Sonim XP6 is a compact bar-style Android handset with a rare combination of touchscreen and physical keypad. Its thick, heavily protected body is designed for demanding job sites and outdoor use, with IP68 and IP69 protection, MIL-STD-810G credentials, and a reinforced 2.6-inch display covered with Gorilla Glass. The screen resolution is modest at 320 x 432, but the format keeps the device small enough to handle easily while leaving room for large buttons and dedicated hardware keys suited to work functions and push-to-talk use. Inside, it runs on a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage, paired with Android 4.4.2. The 5 MP rear camera supports autofocus and 720p video, while the absence of a front camera reflects the phone’s practical focus. A 4800 mAh embedded battery is one of its standout features, giving the XP6 the stamina expected from a rugged cellular device. LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, NFC, GPS and GLONASS are onboard, and the phone uses a micro SIM. At 137 x 64.5 x 20.5 mm and 262 g, it is clearly built for resilience over slimness.

More Cell Towers, Fewer Roadblocks: Ottawa Rethinks Wireless Rules
