Samsung’s first Galaxy Fold 5G approaches the smartphone format from a very different angle, combining a narrow 4.6-inch cover screen with a 7.3-inch Infinity Flex main display that opens into a compact tablet-like workspace. The inner Dynamic AMOLED panel gives this model its character, making split-screen apps, video playback and document viewing feel far roomier than on a conventional phone. A 7 nm octa-core platform is paired with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage, which suits the device’s multitasking focus and leaves plenty of room for media and large apps. The camera setup is unusually complete for an early foldable, with three rear cameras consisting of ultra-wide, wide and telephoto options, plus separate selfie cameras for the cover and interior screens, and 4K video recording at up to 60 fps. Samsung also includes fast wired and wireless charging, Wireless PowerShare, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, USB-C and Samsung DeX support. For the 5G version, the dual-cell battery is rated at 4235 mAh. At 263 g and notably thick when folded, it feels more like a first-generation showcase than a slim everyday handset, but that is also part of its appeal.
