Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018): New & Refurbished Prices in Canada

Samsung

The Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) is a compact mid-range Android phone with a 5.6-inch Super AMOLED display, IP68 water resistance, and strong front cameras for selfies and video calls. It feels more premium than many phones in its class, but its older software and modest battery make it a better fit for light to moderate users than power users.

Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018): Full Specifications

Samsung positioned the Galaxy A8 (2018) as a more refined mid-range phone, and its hardware still reflects that approach. The 5.6-inch Super AMOLED display uses a tall 18.5:9 format and a sharp 1080 x 2220 resolution, giving the phone a compact footprint without feeling cramped. Its glass-and-metal build adds a more upscale feel, and IP68 water and dust resistance remains a notable feature for this class. Inside, the Exynos 7885 processor is paired with 4 GB of RAM and either 32 GB or 64 GB of storage, with microSD expansion available for extra room. Samsung also gave this model an unusual focus on front cameras, with a dual 16 MP and 8 MP setup for selfies and video calls, while the rear 16 MP camera uses a bright f/1.7 lens and records up to 1080p video. Other practical touches include a rear fingerprint reader, NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi ac, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, USB-C, and fast charging for the 3000 mAh battery. At 149.2 x 70.6 x 8.4 mm and 172 g, it stays easy to handle while offering a more polished feel than many similarly sized phones.
