Developed by Google with Motorola, the Nexus 6 takes the Nexus formula into a much larger format with a contoured frame, a broad front face and dual stereo speakers that suit video, games and reading as much as day-to-day communication. The display measures just under 6 inches and uses an AMOLED panel with a sharp 1440 x 2560 resolution, giving the phone a dense, detailed look for text and media. Inside, it pairs a quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB or 64 GB of internal storage, running Android 5.0 out of the box in Google’s streamlined style. The rear camera combines a 13 MP sensor with optical image stabilisation and a dual-LED ring flash, and it supports 4K video capture, while the front camera is 2 MP. Official hardware details also note a 3220 mAh non-removable battery, Bluetooth 4.1, 802.11ac Wi-Fi with 2 x 2 MIMO, NFC, micro-USB, a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a single nano-SIM slot. At 159.26 x 82.98 x 10.06 mm and 184 g, it is unmistakably a big handset with a substantial in-hand feel.
