iPhone 7: Full Specifications

The iPhone 7 keeps Apple’s familiar compact format with an aluminium body, a 4.7-inch Retina HD display and the circular Home button with Touch ID integrated below the screen. Its 1334 x 750 LCD panel supports wide colour, and the phone’s slim build remains easy to handle at 138.3 x 67.1 x 7.1 mm and 138 g. Inside, the A10 Fusion chip powers everyday tasks, media playback and older iOS features with more confidence than earlier 4.7-inch iPhones, while official storage options ranged from 32 GB to 256 GB. The 12 MP rear camera stands out for adding optical image stabilization, an f/1.8 lens and 4K video recording at 30 fps, along with 1080p capture at up to 60 fps and slow motion modes. Up front, the 7 MP FaceTime HD camera covers selfies and video calls. Apple also gave this model stereo speakers, IP67 splash, water and dust resistance, 802.11ac Wi-Fi with MIMO, LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi calling and GPS support including GLONASS and Galileo. It uses a Lightning connector for charging and wired audio accessories, and it takes a nano-SIM rather than older micro-SIM cards.

Pros

  • Home button: The iPhone 7's inclusion of the home button is highly appealing to Apple fans who did not appreciate the company's redesign.

Cons

  • Performance: The iPhone 7 has not aged well in the realm of specs, and appears blatantly underpowered when put next to more recent iPhone models.
  • No headphone jack: Even if you purchase the iPhone 7 due to nostalgia for the older designs, it still lacks a traditional headphone jack, and requires a wired port or Bluetooth headphones to connect.
