Apple positioned the iPhone 6 Plus as the larger member of the iPhone 6 family, built around a 5.5 inch Retina HD display with a sharp 1920 x 1080 resolution and IPS panel technology. Its aluminium unibody and curved glass give it a slimmer, more streamlined look than earlier iPhones, while the larger format leaves room for a bigger battery and a roomier screen for video, reading and everyday apps. Inside, it uses Apple’s A8 chip with the M8 motion coprocessor, paired with 16GB, 64GB or 128GB of storage. The rear 8MP iSight camera stands out for optical image stabilization, a feature the smaller iPhone 6 did not have, and it supports 1080p video at 30 or 60 fps, slow motion capture at 120 or 240 fps, and time lapse video. On the front, the FaceTime HD camera captures 1.2MP photos and 720p video. The phone includes Touch ID in the Home button, NFC for Apple Pay, 802.11ac Wi Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, LTE support, VoLTE and Wi Fi calling on compatible carriers. It uses a Nano SIM, charges through Lightning, keeps the 3.5 mm headphone jack, and measures 158.1 x 77.8 x 7.1 mm at 172 g.

Pros

  • "Vintage" features: Like the iPhone 6, the iPhone 6 Plus is highly attractive to customers who miss Apple's older features. With Touch ID, a headphone jack, and 64GB/128GB storage, this model is a stronger choice than the iPhone 6 (if you don't mind the size).

Cons

  • Camera: Much like the iPhone 6, the 6 Plus' front-facing camera is highly outdated.
  • Performance: Although the 6 Plus offers many classic features, it gets avstly outperformed by the more recent models, even the iPhone 8.
