Where we live, the only options are Xplore LTE, Rogers 5G and Starlink. Xplore thinks 1-2 Mb/s during peak evening hours is good service and Rogers limits streaming to 3 Mb/s. Although the monthly fee for Starlink is almost twice the price, we get between 30 and 80 Mb/s with fairly low latency on speed tests to local servers. This is a limitation of the ground connections between Starlink and the

I know the bill might be a bit high. I live in a very rural area. My last internet was between 0.5 and 1.5 Mbs. This is over 200 Mbs and almost the same bill. Never have any problem with it. Being satellite I thought it would go out in bad weather but never does. Of course when the power goes out but only then. They are putting in Fiber on my road, 5 years after I got Starlink, and I think I will stick with Starlink.

I have had Starlink for 3 years now and it has transformed rural life. Starlink is fast and dependable.

It's pretty expensive, but 100% worth it if you don't have access to fiber.

I finally made the switch. The difference in latency is night and day (ping went from 120ms to 35ms). If you're on the fence because of the hardware cost, you can actually get your first month of service for FREE (saves you about $140) if you use a referral link.I've got one here if anyone wants to save some cash on the startup:https://www.starlink.com/residential?referral=RC-DF-5256807-64380-52&app_source=share

If you're looking at the Starlink plans here on PlanHub, you already know the equipment cost is the biggest hurdle. I've been using the service just outside of Brantford for a while now, and the speeds (200+ Mbps) are the real deal for rural Ontario. Here’s how to skip the first month’s bill:Starlink has a "Friend Referral" program that isn't always advertised on the main page. Living outside the city, I was struggling with slow speeds for years. Since switching to Starlink, I'm getting 200+ Mbps easily. It’s consistent even in bad weather. If anyone else is looking to make the jump, Starlink has a referral program right now where you get a full month of service for free (saves you about $140 CAD).Link: https://www.starlink.com/residential?referral=RC-DF-5256807-64380-52&app_source=share

Starlink has worked perfectly since I purchased it. I live rurally and had very few options. Of those options Starlink is by far the superior product.
